Philanthropy Events
ANCHORSPLASH
Delta Gamma's annual Anchor Splash event at the University of Maryland is held at Eppley Recreation Center. Many campus organizations participated and the event over the years has many guest judges such as: Torrey Smith from the Baltimore Ravens, Miss D.C., Ally Rose, and Maryland football and basketball players!
All proceeds from both events benefit the Delta Gamma Foundation, which funds programs that raise money for the visually impaired through Service for Sight.
ANCHORSLAM
In 2016, Delta Gamma, Beta Sigma chapter, held their first annual Anchor Slam. The competition takes place in Ritchie Coliseum and is a basketball tournament in which fraternities compete. The winning team is awarded money donated to their philanthropy! Members of DG coach teams and make posters to cheer on their team. All members of the UMD Greek community and broader UMD community are encouraged to attend!
VISION WALK
Every semester, Delta Gamma's volunteer at Vision Walk, a 5k that not only raises money for the visually impaired, but allows for them to participate. Delta Gamma's assists the walkers throughout the course, and of course cheer them on!
